To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf
- Out of Bounds - Rule 27
Defined by white stakes, lines or fence posts.
Siol Hole 7 - A ball which comes to rest on or beyond the white line on the buggy track on Hole 1 and extended behind the 7th putting green is Out of Bounds even though it may lie on another part of the course. The same white line is not applicable to Hole 1.
- Water Hazards (Including Lateral Water Hazards) - Rule 26
Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes or lines.
Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes or lines.
Note: Dropping Zones for Water Hazards
Where there are dropping zones for water hazards, a ball may be played under Rule 26, or a ball may be dropped in the dropping zone under penalty of one stroke.
- Ground under Repair - Rule 25
Deep tyre ruts and small open drains through the green, white broken lines defining buggy limits in front of the putting greens, flower beds and areas defined by white lines.
- Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green
Relief extended to intervention by immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green when the ball lies within two club-lengths of the immovable obstruction - App. I, Part B-5.
- Protection of Young Trees
Protection of young trees identified by blue stakes. Relief must be taken in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b - App. I, Part B-2.
- Relief from Edging Grooves
If a ball lies on an edging groove around a putting green, the player may, without penalty, lift the ball, clean it and place it out of the groove in the nearest position to where it lay, whether on or off the putting green, which is not nearer the hole.
- Embedded Ball
Relief extended to "through the green" - App. I, Part B-3.
- Stones in Bunkers
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions.
